Starcraft 2 Zerg Images Leaked

Image

OK, it’s not exactly a preview of the entire Zerg race. But every starcraft 2 fan like me is dying to know more about the Zerg. Except for the appearance of Zerglings and Mutalisks in the demo previews, not much has been said about Zerg. Well, here is an image that was captured from a Blizzard presentation from Rob Pardo at GDC ‘08. It’s the new Zerg Ultralisk. We don’t know if it will be still known as the Ultralisk since it looks so different already. Personally, I love it. I just hope it has new abilities. I also hope the flying Mutalisks have new abilities as well, otherwise, these units will be just like those in Starcraft I which is boring. The new Ultralisk looks nasty eh? What do you think?

JukeFly: Music On The Go

Image

It’s the social music player that let’s you listed to your music anywhere you go! Why bother when you can bring it with your iPod?

Well, Jukely works differently. It is downloaded into your computer and turns it into a music server. Any computer with an internet connection can listen to the music stream coming from your PC. Kewl. At least there’s no need for synchronization with your portable music device.

Mouse Worn On Finger

Image

The FingerMouse is a new contraption. Hangs on your pointer finger and operated by your thumb. Sounds like a novel way to use a mouse but we doubt that the idea will take off.

It’s wireless. Well it has to be considering that it will be dangling in your hand most of the time. The ring that inserts in your finger is adjustable. The device is operated with a rechargeable battery. Could be fun. Whether it could be useful is anyone’s guess.

Mario Kart To Be Released

Image

In Europe that is. Nintendo will release Mario Kart Wii in Europe on April 11. Mario Kart will be bundled with Wii Wheel (sounds funny eh?). It never ceases to amaze us how innovative Nintendo has become. Die hard gamers may balk at Wii taking the spotlight from Playstation 3 and xBox, but you just can’t ignore how so much fun Wii is compared to the two. It’s pulling in even the casual gamers.

Gamers can race against 11 players worldwide using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. Wii Fit, another add-on to Wii that focuses on exercise games will surely be another hit when it arrives.

Yahoo! Says No To Microsoft

Yahoo! has formally rejected Microsoft’s bid to acquire the search engine giant. Yahoo says that the $31 per share offer of Microsoft is inadequate, and wants $40 per share.

“The proposal is not in the best interests of Yahoo and our stockholders” in an issued statement from the company. Financialy analysts are now speculating that Microsoft will make a new offer that is 5 to 12 billion higher the previous offer to lure Yahoo into selling.

CorelDraw X4 Is Released

ImageThere was a time when CorelDraw was the preeminent graphic application. Ever since the Corel lost it’s focus and ventured into an assortment of dead-end ventures like Wordperfect and the Linux-based OS, CorelDraw has been eclipsed by Adobe Illustrator. Under new management, CorelDraw X3 was released two years ago and seemed to be focused on becoming a serious contender once again. Now, the inevitable CorelDraw X4 has been released. Is it good? The company claims that the software has 50 new features or enhancements. We were at a lost as to what these could be. What we did find were some pretty good additions.

  • CorelDraw X4 finally rids itself of its ugly interface. This is a new beginning for the old-timer.
  • A new improved PowerTrace means faster output. It’s still underwhelming though, compared to Live Trace.
  • More clipart! (Yeah, bet you didn’t expect that?)
  • A nice and useful dedicated function for interactive tables. So useful for making tabular data. And since CorelDraw is used by many office users, this feature makes sense.
  • Raw support and new filters.
  • Many more…

Not exactly a groundbreaking release, but a very solid one nevertheless.
